Pairi Daiza or Paradise in Belgium

Pairi Daiza (formerly Paradisio) is a privately owned zoo and botanical garden located in Wallonia, Belgium.

The 65-hectares (160-acres) large animal theme park is located on the site of the former Cistercian  and is home to over 5000 animals. The name is taken from the word pairi daēza, which is the source of the Persian word paradise.

The park is devided into parts with poetical names: The Cathedral Aviary, The Oasis, Parrot Lane, Kingdom of Ganesha, Andalusian garden.

All the animas are born in the Zoo. Some of the came from other zoos of Europe.

This park is one of the best in Europe.

Everybody can find here his interest. We adored the giraffes, elephants and birds. On the island of the lemurs we were hugging, embracing and cuddling for an hour, so cute they were !

This zoo is famous for the help for the animals in danger.

Soon we will have an opportunity to visit La Terre du Froid (World of Cold). These 18 hectares are featured to present for reindeer, Northern raccoons and American bison. A Russian-themed restaurant, train museum and waterplane hangar you can visit now ! The restaurant impressed me greatly ! The illustrations of the famous Russian fairy-tales, notes in Russian and, of course, the style of Kizhi give you magical impression of visiting Russia. The bill for three persons is 70 euros. The style of the service is the buffet.

There are 5 gardens there. All with their character. The Chinese Garden is the largest Chinese garden in Europe !

Rose garden is the home for 700 varieties of roses. Olive garden presents the collection of plants which was originally part of the Ghent Flower Show. The garden includes plants, fig trees, a cork oak, and a large patch of lavender which attracts butterflies.

The zoo is open 10.00-18.00, in summer 10.00 – 21.00. You can book the tickets online.

Make your holidays cute !
